Faculty & Staff: Program Review Reports
General Information General procedures and guidelines for using the online program review survey are available on our website. This page contains all the links for the reports and data used in the program review process as well as a brief explanation of what is on the reports. The Institutional Research and Assessment for Academic Program Review page can be reached here: http://www.unh.edu/ir/pr1.html.
Reports
Reports are run by the UNH Graduate Office, for departments under review, upon a request only basis. If you need a report run please contact Jonathan Adams at the UNH Graduate schoo (email: jonathan.adams@unh.edu; phone: 862-3003).
Data and Content
The reports help provide the data required as part of the program review process. Data is normally collected over a 7 year period (longer for certain types of reports) from the Banner Student Database which consists of both dynamic and static (R30 census) data. For most programs the data is run for just Fall semesters (except where it makes sense to look at multiple terms), with the exception for the MST Summer only programs which are just run for summer semesters. The reports include the following sections:
- Admissions Counts
- Attrition Breakdown
- Course Work Analysis
- Enrollment Counts
- Financial Assistance Summaries
- Graduation Counts by Term
- Point of Origin and Feeder College Data
- Thesis and Dissertations Counts and Titles
Important Notes
Feeder Institutions (where your applicants are coming from) include any institution with a valid degree even if there is no associated GPA (common in international degrees).
The attrition report shows combined data for linked majors and it also accurately tracks "Change of Degree" students. These are not change of degree's into the program, however (as these reports are all driven by new admits), but instead are those students who did a change of degree out of the program.
Reports reflect linked major data by combining data for both the old major code and the new major code. Example:
Family Studies had an old code PJ47 that was changed to PJ48 when they changed the title of that program back in 199601. The reports will only run for PJ48 as that is the currently active major code, but it will INCLUDE all data from both PJ47 and PJ48. Thus if they had 7 graduated students over 15 years in PJ47 and 20 in PJ48 the report will list, under PJ48, a total of 27 graduated students to more accurately reflect the "real" number graduated within that program.
There are 22 major codes that are considered "linked". Major codes are only linked if the reason for the change in major codes were primarily for "cosmetic" or "bookkeeping" reasons (as in a change in the title or description of the program, or to bring it inline with other coding patterns). A list of those majors is provided at the very bottom of this page.
