Off-Campus Graduate Courses

Via sponsorships from campus departments, the Graduate School supports on-site, customized learning opportunities for K-12 educators seeking to earn graduate credit and receive individualized mentoring developed according to their schools' unique needs. These graduate courses are designed to provide classroom teachers with a balanced learning experience; in addition to group instruction, participants also have the benefit of one-on-one classroom coaching. Learning Through Teaching

In-Service Customized Training for K-12 Teachers

Learning through Teaching is an innovative, in service program designed to help K-12 teachers meet their individual goals in teaching reading, writing and literature. This unique program brings education to the site of instruction- the teacher’s own school and classroom.

Learning Through Teaching offers a wide spectrum of literacy topics and issues, including

  • Writing Across the Curriculum
  • Literacy and Technology
  • Reading and Writing Workshop
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Understanding the Common Core State Standards

Teaching and Learning Mathematics in Context

On-Site Customized Professional Development for Mathematics Teachers

The Teaching & Learning Mathematics in Context is a unique course designed to help teachers meet their professional and curriculum goals by bringing education to the site of learning - the teacher’s own classroom. Our format includes observation, coaching, individualized learning, and classroom practice.

Mathematics in Context courses will include:

  • Individualized classroom coaching and mentoring
  • Mathematics-content workshops
  • Classroom observations and discussions
  • Network with other education professionals
