You can use your MyUNH account to check the status of your application, register for courses, check your grades, update your mailing address, request a transcript, and a lot more! To do this just select the "Webcat/Student Services" tab after you login.
UNH Email: It is very important that all graduate students activate their UNH email Account as soon as possible. Your email can be activated once you register for courses. All official electronic communication with UNH will be via your UNH email account. |
Accessing Your MyUNH (IT ID) Account Single Sign-on & Access to the UNH Portal, MyUNH The University of New Hampshire offers both applicants and students a variety of online services. These services are all accessed using your MyUNH username (which is also referred to as your IT ID) through the UNH Portal. Some of the main services are Blackboard (for coursework and assignments), Webcat (to check your application status, changing your contact mailing address, for registering for courses, paying bills, checking grades and reviewing personal information) and your UNH email account. NOTE: During our busiest time of year (Late January to mid-March) it can take 2-3 weeks from the time you applied before documents sent in the mail are processed and entered with your application - if you see your application is incomplete and you know you mailed in material keep in mind the 2-3 week time frame and be patient about calling our office as there is a good chance the mail simply hasn't been processed yet. Obtaining your MyUNH Username and Password How you get your MyUNH username and how you access the various services depends on what your status is with UNH. Select the link below that best describes your status:
Also be sure to read the section on getting your UNH Email Address. This is very important as all official electronic communication with UNH will be through this email address. Brand New Applicants: Note: Your MyUNH username is a completely different account name than the one you may have created if you applied online. If you applied online you would have created a temporary account that is used only to work on your online application. Once you have completed and submitted your online application you will no longer need that account. If you have never attended UNH in the past (or it was a very long time ago) then you would have never had a MyUNH username (IT ID) created. Your username is created automatically for you the day after your application is submitted and processed. Your MyUNH username will not be created until we enter your application into our systems. Please keep in mind that it usually takes about 3-7 business days for us to process a submitted application, depending on the time of year. Get Your MyUNH Username (IT ID) Once your application has been entered and processed, you can get your MyUNH username. Go to the MyUNH Portal (Blackboard) and select the "Login Help" tab and choose the "New User?" link. Enter your SSN or UNH ID number and your birth date. This will give you your User ID and will let you reset your password. Once you have your Username and Password you can log in to check your status. Note about UNH ID: International students or students that did not provide their SSN when applying will have a generated ID. Please to obtain this number. In the body of the email be sure to include your email, full name, current address, the program you are applying to, and your date of birth so we can clearly identify you. Previous UNH Student Now Applying to Grad School In most cases if you attended UNH in the past then you probably already have a MyUNH username/ IT ID. Go to MyUNH (Blackboard) and select the "Login Help" tab and select either the "New User?" or "Need Help Logging in?" link to obtain your MyUNH username and/or reset your password. Once you have your Username and Password you can log in to check your status. Once you login to the system your previous status at UNH (length of admission, undergraduate, grad student applying to a different program, etc.) will determine what parts of the system you can access. If you are not currently an active student then you will only be able to access services available for new applicants (see above). Once you become an active student again you will be able to use all of the services available for active students. If you had a previous email account with UNH that was turned off, you can reactivate it once you become an active student. You can do this through the UNH Help Desk walk-in services at the Dimond Academic Commons Information Technology Support Center (DAC ITSC) in the Dimond Library, 3rd floor. You can reach them by phone at 603-862-4242 during regular business hours. If you attended UNH before our online systems were active it is possible that you would not have a MyUNH username (IT ID.) If you are unable to locate your username you can follow the directions for a Brand New Applicant. Should you continue to have trouble please call the UNH Help Desk at 603-862-4242. Currently Active Graduate Student at UNH If you are currently an active graduate student at UNH you can access your MyUNH account by using your current MyUNH username (IT ID). If you have not yet activated your Webcat account go to http://blackboard.unh.edu, select the "Login Help" tab and follow the directions under "Need help logging in?" Once you have your Username and Password you can log in to check your status. Should you still need help then please contact the UNH Help Desk at 603-862-4242 or visit their walk-in service area at the Dimond Academic Commons Information Technology Support Center (DAC ITSC) in the Dimond Library, 3rd floor. Checking your Application Status To check your status go to http://blackboard.unh.edu and select Login. Enter your Username and Password and select Login. (Instructions on how to obtain your username and password are included above.) Once you have logged in you can access Webcat by selecting the "Webcat/Student Services" tab. Now select the "Admissions" link from the list and then select the application you want to view under the "Processed Applications" header. This will bring up an application summary that will let you see what, if anything, you are missing to complete your application. (If an item on the list does not have a received date next to it we have yet to receive it.) You are also able to see any admissions decisions that have been made on your application. Please see below for an explanation of the most common status/admissions decisions. IMPORTANT: Please note that the status that you are checking online is the most current and is also the exact same status that we can see in our office. Please try and refrain from calling our office to re-check your status after checking it online. This is redundant as we will likely not be able to give you any more information than you have already seen. However, if you think there is an error with your application please contact us immediately. Application Status: Application Decisions: Should you be admitted and accept the offer, you will then be granted more access to student services through your MyUNH account. You will be able to register for courses, check your grades, pay your bills, look at your schedule, get an email address, and update some of your personal records, all online. You can also update your contact mailing address as well (the current warning on that page only applies to undergraduate students). NOTE: If you submitted an application but you do not see any applications listed under the "Processed Applications" header it most likely means that we have yet to process your application. Please be sure to allow 3-5 business days before checking your status. If it has been more than a week and you still are not able to check your status please do not hesitate to contact our office. NOTE: During our busiest time of year (Late January to mid-March) it can take 2-3 weeks before documents sent in the mail are processed and entered on your application - so if you see your application is incomplete and you know you mailed in material keep in mind the 2-3 week time frame and be patient about calling our office as there is a good chance it just hasn't been processed yet.
